We combined Miles’ creative, memorable teaching style and mnemonics with Kim’s deep knowledge of the exam and 10+ years of tutoring experience to make difficult OT concepts easier to understand and remember.
We don’t just give you more charts and information to memorize. We teach it in a way that helps it finally click.
450 Formula is a self-paced online video course with pre-recorded lessons you can watch anytime. We do not offer private tutoring or live sessions through 450 Formula.
However, Kim and Miles go live for FREE 1–2 times each month in the OT Exam Prepper Facebook study group.

The content taught inside 450 Formula is based on occupational therapy literature and professional reference materials.
NBCOT® publishes a list of references used in the development of its certification exams. We use references from that list, including OT textbooks, professional literature, and articles, when developing our course content.
We do not rely on Google searches, random websites, or unverified online sources to teach exam content.
Our goal is simple: teach you from the OT literature that supports the concepts you’re expected to understand for the exam.
Absolutely! Universities and OT programs can purchase 450 Formula access for an entire cohort.
Your program director, professor, or university administrator can visit the University Admin section and select the number of student seats and access duration needed for your cohort.
Once purchased, the administrator can add students individually or upload a list of student names and email addresses. Each student will then receive an email with instructions to activate their account and begin using 450 Formula.
You can request an extension directly from your 450 Formula dashboard.
Go to Extension Request, tell us why you need additional access, and submit your request. Our team will review it and your request will either be approved or denied.
If approved, the additional access will be added to your account.

Generally, we recommend studying 4–6 hours per day, 5 days per week, for approximately 4–6 weeks.

We also recommend incorporating full-length practice exams into your preparation so you can practice timing, endurance, and applying your knowledge under exam conditions.
Your study plan should ultimately be guided by your performance. If your scores show you have a weakness, address it. If they show you've mastered an area, keep moving.

If you purchase 450 Formula and find that it’s not what you expected, we’re happy to issue a refund as long as you have accessed less than 5% of the course.
Once you have accessed or completed 5% or more of the course, your purchase is no longer eligible for a refund due to the digital nature of the program and access to our proprietary course content.
We recommend following the 450 Formula study plan whenever possible. The course is intentionally structured to incorporate spaced repetition and active recall to help you retain what you’re learning and revisit important concepts at strategic points throughout your studying.
However, you are not required to follow the course in order. You can move through 450 Formula based on your individual needs and prioritize the topics where you have the greatest weaknesses.

If you complete 450 Formula and do not pass your NBCOT® exam, we’ll stick with you. You can request an extension by submitting your extension request along with documentation of your exam results.

Practice questions are included throughout the courses to help you see how the content you’re learning may be presented in a question and practice applying what you know.
You’ll also see videos of Kim and Miles breaking down questions, so you can learn how to think through the question, apply the content, and understand the reasoning behind the answer.
If your primary goal is to take large sets of practice questions or simulate the full NBCOT® exam experience, you’ll want to use a dedicated exam simulation resource (such as TMPOT or NBCOT study pack) alongside 450 Formula.
